The bike course is physically demanding but technically mellow all on double track and gravel bike compatible. There are steep ups and downs with only a few rocky bits, no drops or steps. The run is typical North desert with ups and downs.

Scenic singletrack loop on top of Grand Mesa mostly through forest and meadows with a long crest section that is narrow with short sections of exposure. Starts at 10,455' with a high point of 11,170'.
Above Colorado National Monument and Glade Park on Pinon Mesa in the Fruita section of the Grand Mesa National Forest. Run through aspen groves, lush meadows, pine forest and often a mud hole or two. Wildflowers are usually abundant.
Become part of the Summit and Plummet club!! Very steep and difficult climb to the summit up the main trail from the Palisade trail head then descend a marginal trail with exposure down the Clifton side for the typical fiery finish.
Challenging self-supported singletrack trail run with considerable downhill in the first half that has to be regained.
